MGM Resorts International in Biloxi, MS is hiring a Sushi Cook to bring artistry and precision to Japanese dishes. You will use advanced knife skills, follow Chef specifications, and ensure plate presentation meets our high standards.

This full-time role offers a starting rate of $21.60 per hour plus tips, with a swing shift Friday through Tuesday, 2:30pm to 10:30pm. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of sushi experience and a high school diploma or GED.

JIA Overview

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Prepare sushi and other Japanese dishes with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail
• Apply advanced knife skills and maintain superior plate presentation
• Follow recipes and specifications set by the Chef to ensure food quality and consistency
• Conduct regular inventory of assigned items, ensuring proper par levels are maintained
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and proper functioning of all kitchen equipment and work areas
• Communicate with chefs and teammates to address and resolve any challenges
• Assist with preparation in pantry and other kitchen areas as needed
• Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, culinary techniques, and proper use of kitchen tools

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Holds a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Demonstrates 1+ years of prior relevant sushi experience
• Possesses strong knife skills and knowledge of sushi preparation techniques
