Job summary

MGM Resorts is seeking a Sushi Cook for its Biloxi, Mississippi location to bring artistry and precision to every plate. You will prepare sushi and Japanese dishes, applying advanced knife skills and maintaining exceptional plate presentation to delight guests.

The role offers a full-time swing shift schedule with a starting rate of $21.60 per hour plus tips. You will work Friday through Tuesday, 2:30pm–10:30pm, with Wednesdays and Thursdays off, and contribute to a high-standard dining program

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1+ years of sushi experience.
• Strong knife skills and knowledge of sushi preparation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sushi and other Japanese dishes with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
• Apply advanced knife skills and maintain superior plate presentation.
• Follow recipes and specifications set by the Chef to ensure food quality and consistency.
• Conduct regular inventory of assigned items, ensuring proper par levels are maintained.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and proper functioning of all kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Communicate with chefs and teammates to address and resolve any challenges.
• Assist with preparation in pantry and other kitchen areas as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of menu items, culinary techniques, and proper use of kitchen tools.

THE STARTING RATE

$21.60 an hour + tips

THE SCHEDULE

Full Time | Swing Shift

Friday - Tuesday | 2:30pm - 10:30pm

Off | Wednesday & Thursday

THE DAY-TO-DAY

• Prepare sushi and other Japanese dishes with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
