Job summary

State of New Hampshire is seeking a Cook I at the New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, NH. This full-time, 1st shift position pays $14.40–$18.46 hourly and includes a schedule starting 5:30am–2:00pm with varying weekends (extra $2/hour).

Responsibilities include assisting in food preparation, following recipes and menus, and helping train staff. Minimum qualifications include 8th grade education; hairnet and hygiene standards apply.

Qualifications

• 8th grade education required for minimum qualification.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills preferred.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and directions.
• Ability to supervise and train staff, schedule work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Assists in training Food Service Workers.
• Plans daily tasks assignments for food service workers
• Works with Food Service Director in planning new food delivery programs.
• Sanitizes and cleans work surface areas after each task.
• Assists in food preparation according to amounts needed; follows approved recipes and menus.
• Cleans kitchen and cooking utensils; inspects cooking equipment for cleanliness and proper functional operation.
