Job summary

The New Hampshire Veterans Home in Tilton, NH is seeking a Food Service Worker on a full-time basis for the first shift. The role involves assisting with meal preparation and tray service for residents, maintaining sanitation, and supporting dietary staff.

Education starts at 8th grade, with preference for related food service experience. Shifts are 10:30am–7:15pm with varying weekends and an additional $2.00/hour for weekend work.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Participates in the preparation for, and the setup of, individual trays for food distribution.
• Sets-up for meal service, takes food orders, serves residents and cleans dining rooms.
• Operates dishwashing machine, food disposal, toaster and heat on demand unit.
• Assists with the passing of trays, collecting of trays and cleaning the tables and chairs in the units served.
• Stocks all work areas and unit kitchenettes.
• Cleans all floor areas in dining rooms, kitchen and dishwashing areas.
• May be involved in cooking or otherwise preparing foods as directed by cook or dietary management team.
• Exercises responsibility for training new employees.
• Performs extra cleaning assignments as directed by shift leaders or dietary management team.
• May be involved in procedures for receiving, documenting, and tray preparation relating to both regular and special diets.
