Job summary

The New Hampshire Veterans Home has a full-time, 1st shift vacancy for a Cook I. Located in Tilton, NH, this role offers a 5:30am - 2:00pm schedule with varying weekends and an opportunity to earn additional pay for weekend work.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: 8th grade education.
• Must wear a hairnet and follow hygiene standards.
• Able to stand and work in high temperature and humidity.

Responsibilities

• Assists in training Food Service Workers.
• Plans daily tasks assignments for food service workers.
• Works with Food Service Director in planning new food delivery programs.
• Sanitizes and cleans work surface areas after each task.
• Assists in food preparation according to amounts needed; follows approved recipes and menus.
• Cleans kitchen and cooking utensils; inspects cooking equipment for cleanliness and proper functional operation.
