Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook at the University of Maine at Orono to prepare and present a variety of hot and cold items for all meals and events. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, maintaining safety, accuracy, and efficiency while supporting a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include following recipes, estimating production needs, and keeping records, with flexibility in shifts and a commitment to quality and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Ability to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold items per culinary standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and uphold food safety.
• Follow recipes and product directions for a variety of foods.
• Estimate food requirements and manage production records.
• Support kitchen teamwork and adapt to account-specific requirements.
