Job summary

Sodexo at the University of Northern Colorado is seeking a Cook I to prepare, portion, cook, and plate a variety of hot and cold items for all meals. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, ensuring food safety, quality, and presentation in line with Sodexo standards and client needs.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook, and present hot and cold items per culinary standards.
• Ensure food is prepared safely, accurately, and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Contribute to effective kitchen teamwork and uphold high sanitation standards.
