HMR Veteran Services is seeking a Cook to provide nutritious, high-quality meals for Veteran residents. You will follow menus, accommodate dietary needs, and uphold food safety and sanitation standards in a hospital-style kitchen.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe handling.
• At least one year of cooking in healthcare/long-term care or related setting preferred.
• Additional cook training or experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure meals are served with quality and consistency.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen.
• Assist with meals for special events and activities.
• Properly store and rotate food products.
• Collaborate with Dietary Services to provide excellent resident service.
• Support a positive dining experience for Veteran residents and guests.

Position Summary

As a Cook, you will play a vital role in providing nutritious, high-quality meals to our Veteran residents. You'll prepare and serve meals that meet individual dietary needs while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation. You may also assist with meal preparation for special events and resident activities.

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
• Ensure food is prepared, presented, and served with exceptional quality and consistency.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards at all times.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Assist with meal preparation for special events and facility functions.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food products.
• Work collaboratively with the Dietary Services team to provide excellent service to residents.
• Support a positive dining experience for our Veteran residents and guests.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
• At least one year of cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, or similar food service setting preferred.
• Other relevant cooking experience or successful completion of a professional cook training program will also be considered.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Commitment to providing exceptional service and care to our Veteran residents.
