Job summary

HMR Veteran's Services, LLC in Houston, TX is seeking a Nursing Home Cook to prepare meals that meet our Veteran residents' individual needs and support special events.

You will ensure the highest quality of prepared food items, provide excellent service, and uphold safety and sanitation in the Dietary Services Department. A High School diploma or GED is required, with knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic practices; one year of healthcare cooking experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

The Nursing Home Cook prepares meals for our Veteran residents which meet their individual needs. The Cook also prepares meals for special events as needed. Our Cooks are responsible for ensuring the highest quality of prepared food items, excellent service to our Veteran residents, and the safety and sanitation of the Dietary Services Department.

Key Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Must have knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic practices.
• One-year of cooking experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Other cooking experience or successful completion of a cook's training program (not a class) will be considered.
