Job summary

HMR Veteran's Services is seeking a Nursing Home Cook to prepare meals for Veteran residents, ensuring individual dietary needs are met and events are catered as required. The role emphasizes quality, service, and strict sanitation in a healthcare kitchen.

Your duties include producing meals with attention to nutrition, consistency, and safety, while collaborating with the dietary team on special events and resident care plans. Shifts run 11:00 am–7:30 pm with weekends/holidays rotating.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and hygienic practices.
• One-year of cooking experience in a healthcare setting is required.
• Other cooking experience or successful completion of a cook's training program (not a class) will be considered.

Responsibilites:

The Nursing Home Cook prepares meals for our Veteran residents which meet their individual needs. The Cook also prepares meals for special events as needed. Our Cooks are responsible for ensuring the highest quality of prepared food items, excellent service to our Veteran residents, and the safety and sanitation of the Dietary Services Department.

Key Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED)

These shifts are 11:00 am - 7:30 pm with some weekends and holidays being required. Shift will be on a rotating schedule. Morning shifts are 6:00 am - 2:00 pm with the same rotations of weekends and some holidays.
