Job summary

designerbrands is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our 700,000 sq ft distribution center in Kentucky. The role focuses on responding to service calls, providing mechanical and electrical support, and troubleshooting automated material handling system components with minimal supervision.

You will install, service, and repair complex equipment on site, follow detailed work instructions, perform preventive maintenance, and document issues with Facilities Manager and Operations.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED; college degree or technical cert preferred.
• Two+ years maintenance on industrial equipment or automation/conveyor systems.
• Must be able to read and follow instructions in English and perform math tasks.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other lifting equipment; pass on-site certification.
• Familiarity with safety procedures including lock-out/tag-out.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve service calls for mechanical and electrical issues.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on material handling equipment.
• Repair and install components on automated conveyor and putwall systems.
• Inspect equipment daily and document issues with Facilities Manager.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic systems and motors, align rollers, replace parts.
• Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
