Job summary

Saft is seeking a skilled Controls Technician in Valdese, NC to maintain production equipment, repair and calibrate complex electronic controls, and support engineering with upgrades. The role requires hands-on problem solving, PLC programming, and knowledge of Allen Bradley/RS Logic systems.

You will work with engineers and vendors on automatic controls, machine and process controls, and ensure safety policies are followed in the plant engineering/facilities team.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics or equivalent preferred.
• 5 years' experience in industrial controls technician role with progressive responsibility.
• Experience programming/troubleshooting PLCs and HMI/robotic systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex repairs/adjustments on production equipment.
• Provide hands-on technical support for troubleshooting and repair of controls.
• Backup and manage PLC software versions in the control database.
• Collaborate with engineering for projects and upgrades.
• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams and build panels.
