Job summary
Actalent seeks a Controls Engineer in Burlington, NC, to lead the design, programming, integration, and reliability of automated manufacturing systems. You will provide advanced technical support to plant and maintenance personnel and act as the controls and automation SME.
The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Controls/Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of controls experience, and at least 3 years in manufacturing and maintenance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechanical or related engineering discipline.
- Five+ years of controls engineering experience.
- Three+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Three+ years of maintenance experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and program automation solutions using PLC and SCADA technologies.
- Configure, support, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, instrumentation, and related control systems.
- Lead hardware and software integration for automated manufacturing equipment.
- Coordinate with suppliers to source, specify, and implement instrumentation and controls.
- Maintain CAD files, drawings, schematics, controls documentation and other records.
- Perform root-cause analysis on maintenance and production losses and implement countermeasures.
