Job summary

Convergix Automation Solutions is seeking a Controls Engineering Manager to lead the controls hardware and software group for the Industrials division. You’ll ensure on-time delivery, drive engineering excellence, and leverage PEM processes across projects.

The role involves design, programming, commissioning of PLCs, motion control, and vision systems for industrial automation. Travel within the US and Canada is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of Industrial manufacturing processes and project outcomes
• Ability to leverage past process integration experiences for innovative solutions
• Strong technical and project management skills across technology, people, and business
• Excellent interpersonal skills within a multi-disciplinary team and diverse customers
• Willingness to travel within the US and Canada
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, robotics, motion control, and related equipment
• Familiarity with manufacturing standards and equipment validation protocols

Responsibilities

• Lead the controls design group to meet targets, budgets, and timelines
• Enforce engineering processes and drive cross-group alignment
• Research and implement innovative automation solutions
• Allocate resources and manage capacity and staffing needs
• Coach, mentor, and conduct performance reviews
• Collaborate with sales and design teams on specifications and solutions
• Review URS and ensure regulatory alignment (IQ/OQ/PQ)
• Develop standardized controls/software templates across projects
• Maintain engineering tools and systems to support growth
• Manage relationships with outsourced resources while ensuring quality
