Job summary

CONVERGIX Automation Solutions is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Lead to ensure technical solutions meet project requirements on quality and timeline. You will drive design teams, validate third‑party equipment, mitigate risks and support local and remote facilities through strategic collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience in multi-disciplinary project engineering in production environments.
• Ability to manage constraints and interdependencies in system design.
• Proven track record delivering projects on milestones.
• Direct design experience with automated production equipment.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks; NX is a plus.
• Experience evaluating full system processes and OEE considerations.
• Strong engineering discipline and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel within the US and Canada.
• Proficiency with MS Office and engineering calc software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure technical solutions align with functional requirements across division projects.
• Own and develop project technical requirements; guide design teams to close gaps.
• Act as internal expert on customer processes and products to guide design decisions.
• Select and validate third-party equipment to meet scope.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead design reviews to align with timeline, budget, and quality.
• Collaborate with Project Managers on scope changes.
• Provide feedback to Engineering Leaders to improve design standards.
• Support resolution of design issues impacting FAT/SAT approvals.
• Assist in proposal reviews and customer site visits for As-built conditions.
