Job summary

Convergix Automation Solutions seeks a Controls Specialist to lead automation design, programming, testing, and deployment on client projects across industries. You will partner with a skilled internal team to deliver high-impact control systems and drive project success.

The role requires a post-secondary engineering degree, 2–5 years of automation experience, and the ability to travel within the US and Canada. Strong PLC/HMI/Instrumentation expertise and a collaborative mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Engineering from a recognized faculty.
• 2-5 years’ experience in Automation industry delivering on projects.
• Proven design, procurement, programming, testing, commissioning and maintenance of control systems.
• Self-starter with a can-do attitude for solving complex challenges.
• Strong client-focused approach and teamwork.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Willingness to travel within US/Canada.
• Experience in Food & Beverage, Automotive, Agriculture or Oil & Gas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tasks, subsystems, or work packages with increasing autonomy.
• Diagnose issues and implement practical, value-driven solutions.
• Collaborate with senior team and project leads to deliver results.
• Participate in planning, design reviews, and delivery discussions.
