Job summary

ENGEL Machinery North America is seeking a Controls Engineer to program new robots and automation equipment and modify existing software for industrial robots and custom automation equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, debugging, and developing software for production cells

Responsibilities include designing HMIs, communication protocols, and ensuring safety compliance for US and international installations. Travel to customer sites and integration locations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years related experience, preferably in robotics/automation.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Program robots and automation equipment.
• Modify software for industrial robots and custom automation systems.
• Troubleshoot and debug existing products.
• Design HMI and visualization for production cells.
• Develop software for industrial robots (articulated and linear).
• Create documentation and operator instructions.
