Job summary

ENGEL Machinery North America is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to program new robots and automation equipment, modify software for industrial robots, and troubleshoot existing products. You will handle electrical design, hardware integration, and development of software for automation systems, with HMI design and protocol programming (EtherCAT, Ethernet, I/O Link, OPC UA, Profibus, Device Net, etc.).

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering is required or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 7 years related experience (preferred in Robotic and/or Automation).
• Full understanding of electrical schematics and other technical drawings.
• Capable of ladder logic, function block and structure text programming.
• Proficient in C++, Java, SAP and machine simulations.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical schematics and integrate hardware with software.
• Develop and modify software for industrial robots and automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot software at production facilities and customer sites.
