Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission control systems for industrial automation projects. You will develop PLC code, configure HMIs, integrate I/O, and create AutoCAD schematics to deliver reliable, efficient systems on site.

You will collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams, prepare BOMs, test and troubleshoot during commissioning, and support field service while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience in controls engineering, industrial automation, and PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Experience developing/configuring HMI/SCADA applications.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for panel layouts and electrical schematics.
• Experience preparing BOMs and specifying control components.
• Familiar with industrial I/O, field devices, and protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet).
• Strong troubleshooting, on-site commissioning, and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork; able to work on-site during commissioning.
• Familiarity with safety standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC control systems for new and existing machinery and processes.
• Develop and configure HMI screens and operator interfaces for safe, efficient operations.
• Create wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and AutoCAD schematics for control systems.
• Generate BOMs and support procurement of components and panels.
• Integrate and test industrial I/O, networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet), and field devices.
• Troubleshoot system-level issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions during commissioning.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and project teams for seamless integration.
• Prepare technical documents, control narratives, and test procedures; train operators.
• Support continuous improvement to optimize control logic and reliability.
