Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission control systems for industrial automation projects. You will develop PLC code, configure HMIs, integrate I/O, and create AutoCAD schematics to deliver reliable, efficient systems on site.

You will collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams, prepare BOMs, test and troubleshoot during commissioning, and support field service while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering field.
  • Experience in controls engineering, industrial automation, and PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Experience developing/configuring HMI/SCADA applications.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD for panel layouts and electrical schematics.
  • Experience preparing BOMs and specifying control components.
  • Familiar with industrial I/O, field devices, and protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, ProfiNet).
  • Strong troubleshooting, on-site commissioning, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork; able to work on-site during commissioning.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

Controls Engineer
Position Overview

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission control systems for industrial automation projects. Key Responsibilities
  • Design, program, and commission PLC control systems for new and existing machinery and processes.

  • Create and maintain wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and AutoCAD schematics for control systems.
  • Generate bill of materials (BOM) and support procurement of components and control panels.

  • Perform system-level troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions during commissioning and field service.

  • Prepare technical documentation, control narratives, and test procedures; train operators and maintenance staff as required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize control logic, reduce downtime, and improve system reliability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in controls engineering, industrial automation, and PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
  • Experience developing and configuring HMI/SCADA applications.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD for panel layouts and electrical schematics.
