Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a hands-on Automation/Controls Engineer to design, program, commission PLC/robot systems for manufacturing environments using Allen-Bradley/Rockwell platforms, vision, and CNC interfaces. You will develop HMIs, integrate robots with Roboguide, perform on-site startups, and collaborate with mechanical/electrical teams to ensure safety and uptime.

Some travel to customer sites is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls/Mechatronics or related field or equivalent experience.
3+ years in industrial automation, PLC programming, and controls engineering.
Experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLC platforms (RSLogix/Studio 5000) and Ladder Logic.
Proven experience developing and configuring HMIs/SCADA (FactoryTalk, PanelView or similar).
Experience with industrial robot integration (Fanuc preferred) and Roboguide.
Familiarity with vision systems and integrating vision results into control logic.
Knowledge of CNC interfaces, machine tool controls, and motion systems is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and on-site installation skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork across engineering, maintenance, and operations.
Ability to travel to customer sites for start-up and commissioning.

Responsibilities

Design, program, test, and commission PLC systems (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell).
Develop and maintain HMI/SCADA screens and operator interfaces.
Create ladder logic and structured text for control strategies and safety interlocks.
Integrate and simulate robots (Fanuc) and cell behavior with Roboguide.
Specify, install, and commission vision systems and integrate results into PLC logic.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and production teams on system architectures.
Perform on-site installations, wiring reviews, start-ups, and tuning.
Maintain documentation: schematics, I/O lists, tests, and manuals.
Troubleshoot automation issues and perform root-cause analysis.
Support OEE improvements and retrofit projects.
