Job summary

The Mennel Milling Company in Toledo, Ohio, is seeking a Controls Engineer II to provide technical leadership for industrial automation and electrical controls at our Toledo facility. The role partners with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering to improve equipment performance, drive automation projects, and ensure food safety, product quality, and production reliability.

A degree in electrical engineering technology or related field plus 5+ years of automation experience are required;

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field is required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience troubleshooting, programming, and implementing industrial automation in manufacturing.
• Experience leading controls-related work for equipment upgrades and capital projects.
• Minimum 5 years programming and configuring PLCs, HMIs, drives, and related equipment.
• Knowledge of Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of SCADA experience including system development and support.
• Experience with FactoryTalk View and Ignition preferred.
• Knowledge of ACP ThinManager and plant floor thin-client environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and industrial power distribution is a plus.
• Understanding of industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Remote I/O).
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support for industrial automation and electrical controls at the Toledo facility.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve equipment performance and production reliability.
• Develop or modify control applications such as FactoryTalk View and Ignition.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, drives, and related automation equipment.
• Plan and execute electrical and automation projects and capital initiatives.
• Support safety programs and regulatory compliance related to electrical systems.
