Job summary

General Mills Wellston, OH is seeking a Controls Engineer to provide technical leadership for electrical and controls systems across the plant. You will collaborate with engineers, operators, maintenance, and external vendors to implement PLC/HMI projects and maintain system reliability.

You will support safety compliance, troubleshoot complex control issues, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes by applying advanced control strategies and technology.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required; electrical or controls preferred.
• 3+ years of related experience in control systems engineering.
• Experience with PLC/HMI hardware and software and manufacturing networks.
• Familiarity with NEC/NFPA 70E codes and industrial safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical and controls systems engineering for plant operations.
• Provide troubleshooting support to operations and maintenance teams.
• Guide PLC/HMI hardware/software implementations per GMI standards.
• Manage capital projects and external integrators for controls work.
• Train and mentor controls technicians and other staff.
