Job summary
General Mills Wellston, OH Plant is seeking a Controls Engineer to provide technical leadership for electrical and controls systems across the site. You will collaborate with project engineers, electricians, and operations to design, implement, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI applications in line with GMI standards.
The role requires strong problem solving, code-level PLC troubleshooting, and experience with Allen-Bradley platforms.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
- 3+ years of related experience in controls engineering.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects and coordinate with contractors.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical/controls architecture and PLC/HMI software development.
- Support safety and code compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 79).
- Provide troubleshooting support for operations and maintenance.
- Manage capital projects and external integrators.
- Mentor controls team and coordinate with engineers and vendors.
