Job summary

Design Group is seeking a Controls Engineer II to lead and deploy BMS and EPMS for AI-driven data centers in Texas. The role emphasizes onsite leadership, calibration of instruments, and coordinating with design teams across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in control systems startups, strong communication, and willingness to travel or relocate. Ignition and commissioning experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience starting up control systems with significant onsite time.
• Ability to spend significant time onsite (75%).
• Willing to travel 100% or relocate near the site (relocation assistance offered).
• Strong communicator and ability/desire to work within large teams.
• Experience with BMS and EPMS commissioning is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the successful deployment of multiple greenfield data centers; scopes will include both BMS and EPMS.
• Receive the applications from the design team and deploy them to each site.
• Point to Point check out of thousands of devices.
• Configuration of communication protocols for multiple types of equipment including switchgear, breakers, etc.
• Configuration and calibration of instruments (meters, VFD’s, flow meters, etc.).
• Deployment and commissioning of Ignition applications.
• Provide guidance/leadership to Design Group subcontractors onsite.
