Job summary

Riot Platforms is seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer for mission-critical data center projects in Texas. You will lead commissioning, vendor management, and on-site support across multiple deployments, including large-scale 200 MW projects.

You’ll work with EPMS and BMS/SCADA systems, manage incident response and changes, and mentor junior engineers while helping evolve our controls standards and governance documentation.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of controls engineering experience in data center or mission-critical infra.
• Hands-on commissioning and vendor management experience (RFP review, PSA negotiation and execution).
• Strong working knowledge of EPMS and BMS/SCADA systems integration and commissioning.
• Familiarity with industrial protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and OPC-UA.
• Comfort owning incident response and change management for live, critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site commissioning and project management across deployments, including close-out and warranty resolution.
• Own commissioning and vendor management for new deployments up to 200 MW.
• Support monitoring, alarm thresholds, and controls integration for liquid-cooled infrastructure.
• Lead hands-on, on-site troubleshooting and technical support for operations teams.
• Mentor junior controls team members and help develop the controls team.
• As workload stabilizes, grow into reviewing and co-owning controls standards and governance docs.
