Job summary

Jennmar Automation, LLC seeks a Controls Engineer II to lead full lifecycle automation projects from concept to on-site commissioning. You will design electrical systems, program PLCs/ HMIs, and integrate robotics, vision, and Ethernet networks.

The role requires NEC/NFPA compliance knowledge, AutoCAD Electrical expertise, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Travel up to 15% domestically and internationally is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years designing, building, and programming custom automation systems.
• Experience with NEC, NFPA 79, RIA TR R15.06 standards.
• Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platform experience required; others preferred.
• AutoCAD Electrical proficiency required.
• Robotics experience with major brands preferred.
• Strong root-cause analysis and structured troubleshooting.
• Domestic and international travel up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Utilize PLCs and HMI to build machine control software architectures.
• Integrate robotics, vision, VFDs, and servo applications into control logic.
• Configure and troubleshoot network interfaces (DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).
• Design electrical panels, schematics, and BOMs using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Develop robot paths and offline programming for integration.
• Provide on-site startup, commissioning, and client training.
• Perform safety assessments and ensure compliant interfaces.
• Mentor entry-level controls engineers and coordinate cross-functional teams.
