Job summary

Red Seal Recruiting Ltd. seeks a Controls Engineer II to manage full lifecycle automation projects, from conception to commissioning. You will design control architectures, integrate robotics and drives, and generate electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.

The role requires education in electrical engineering and 5+ years of experience, with travel up to 15% for on-site system integration at customer facilities. Strong troubleshooting and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE or related field.
• 5+ years designing and programming automation systems.
• Experience with NEC/NFPA 79 and RIA TR R15.06.
• Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms experience (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View).
• AutoCAD Electrical competency.
• Robot integration experience preferred.
• Willing to travel up to 15%.
• Strong root-cause analysis and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Design and program machine control software architectures.
• Integrate robotics, vision, and drives into control logic.
• Configure network interfaces (DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).
• Create electrical schematics and BOMs with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Develop robot paths and offline programming.
• Lead system integration, debugging, and validation.
• Provide on-site commissioning and client training.
• Perform safety assessments and ensure compliance.
