Job summary
Software Placement Group in Wyoming, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer II to own the full lifecycle of custom automation and process control systems. The role spans concept validation, programming, system integration, debugging, and on-site commissioning to deliver reliable, safe, and high-performing automated manufacturing solutions.
You will work with PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, and industrial networks, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with Mechanical Engineering, Project
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related engineering field
- 5+ years designing and programming automation systems
- Experience with NEC, NFPA 79, and RIA TR R15.06
- Proficiency with Rockwell Automation platforms
Responsibilities
- Develop control software architectures using PLCs and HMIs
- Integrate robotics, vision systems, drives, and servo applications
- Design electrical panels and BOMs with AutoCAD Electrical
- Lead on-site startup, commissioning, and training
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams and customers
