Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC. is seeking a Controls Engineer II to own the full engineering lifecycle of custom automation systems. You will design, program, integrate, debug, and commission systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams and traveling up to 15% as needed.

The role requires strong electrical design and software architecture skills, familiarity with NEC/NFPA 79 and RIA TR R15.06, and proficiency in Rockwell/Allen-Bradley platforms as well as AutoCAD Electrical.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of direct industry experience in automation design.
• Experience with NEC, NFPA 79, and RIA TR R15.06.
• Rockwell/Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View) required.
• AutoCAD Electrical proficiency.
• Willingness to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Architect and program machine control software using PLCs and HMI.
• Integrate robotics, vision systems, VFDs, and servo systems.
• Design electrical panels and I/O maps in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Lead commissioning and on-site startup at customer facilities.
• Mentor junior controls engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
