Job summary

6 Degrees Search in Wyoming, MI is seeking a Controls Engineer II to own the full lifecycle of custom automation projects, from concept through programming and on-site commissioning.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical design, Rockwell/AutoCAD Electrical, and hands-on experience with robotics and vision systems. Domestic and international travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years designing and programming automation systems.
• Experience with NEC/NFPA 79 and RIA TR R15.06.
• Experience with Rockwell Studio 5000 and FactoryTalk View.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Willing to travel up to 15% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Design and program comprehensive control architectures.
• Integrate robotics, vision, drives into control logic.
• Configure network interfaces across DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet.
• Create electrical schematics and BOMs in AutoCAD Electrical.
• Lead commissioning and on-site support.
• Mentor junior controls engineers.
• Ensure safety standards and risk assessments.
