Job summary

Electrical Automation Services is seeking a skilled controls technician to support manufacturing operations in Oswego Township, IL. The role involves installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of automation components, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and power distribution.

Candidate will work 2nd or 3rd shift with overtime after 40 hours and potential for raises based on performance. Safety procedures and experience with packaging equipment are a plus. In-person work location in Illinois.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with PLCs and servo systems preferred.
• Ability to work 2nd shift (2-10pm) or 3rd shift (10pm-6am); overtime after 40 hours.
• Knowledge of lockout/tagout and safety procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and troubleshoot photo eyes, proximity switches, PLC I/O modules, and control wiring.
• Troubleshoot analog and digital controls with 480V, 3-phase power, motors, VFDs, servo drives, and soft starts.
• Maintain and troubleshoot encoders and load cells.
• Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI interfaces.
• Modify PLC control logic using ladder logic.
• Diagnose HMI and graphic interfaces and communication protocols (Profibus, serial, industrial Ethernet).
• Troubleshoot equipment using electrical schematics.
• Perform preventive maintenance on Laser Guided Vehicles and conveyors.
