The role reports to a collaborative CFO, driving GAAP reporting, controls, and process improvements to support growth.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of related experience, CPA preferred, and proficiency in Netsuite and advanced Excel. Hybrid work schedule and strong compensation offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
• CPA license preferred or eligible.
• Advanced Excel skills and ERP systems experience (Netsuite preferred).
• 7+ years of related accounting experience required.

Responsibilities

Professional Search Group is partnering with an innovative tech company in San Diego that is seeking a Controller to join their team. This role, reporting directly to a collaborative CFO, will be responsible for overseeing the accounting department, leading a team of five. It's an exciting opportunity for someone who can drive process improvements and establish strong financial procedures to support the company’s growth and long‑term success.

Controller Job Duties

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Accounting Management: Oversee the team providing day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing and reconciliations to drive month end close.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, and manage internal controls to mitigate risks.
• Audit Coordination: Coordinate and lead external audits, ensuring compliance with all required financial documentation and standards.
• Cash Management: Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
