Strategic Employment Partners (SEP) is assisting a Central Coast California company in hiring a Controller who will bridge accounting leadership and business partnership. You will work directly with the CFO to maintain accurate financial operations and serve as a resource to operations leadership across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in accounting/finance with 3+ years leading an accounting function.
• Solid foundation in month-end close, reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting and audits.
• Experience maintaining internal controls and coordinating annual audits.
• Advanced Excel and hands-on ERP experience to improve processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting function and collaborate with the CFO.
• Partner with operations leadership to drive accurate financial reporting.

Job description

We are working with a well-established, privately held company on the Central Coast of California that is looking to add a Controller to their team. This person will sit at the intersection of accounting leadership and business partnership, working directly with the CFO to keep the financial operation running accurately and efficiently while serving as a resource to operations leadership across the organization.

Desired Skills

• 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with 3+ years owning an accounting function in a leadership capacity, including managing a team of direct reports
• Solid technical accounting foundation covering month-end close, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and audit readiness
• Experience maintaining and improving internal controls, supporting annual financial and 401K audits, and ensuring compliance with tax and reporting requirements
• Advanced Excel proficiency and hands-on ERP experience, with a track record of finding and fixing inefficiencies in financial processes and reporting
