Overview
Financial Controller Our client, a growing and dynamic company, is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee its accounting and financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all functions. This role offers a blend of hands-on work and leadership, with direct impact on processes, reporting, and team development. The Financial Controller will balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, guiding the team while improving processes and controls.
Base pay range
$150,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and expense management.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accuracy and timeliness in accordance with US GAAP.
- Manage account reconciliations, journal entries, and preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance and safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to provide financial insights, forecasts, and recommendations to support business planning and decision-making.
- Lead the budgeting process, including preparation, review, and presentation of budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor performance against budget, analyze variances, and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations, as well as company accounting policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and manage annual financial audits, serving as the key contact for external auditors and advisors.
- Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to improve accuracy and scalability.
- Mentor, develop, and lead the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and professional growth.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all financial and operational reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA required).
- 6-8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting best practices.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with leadership.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar) and strong Excel skills.
