Job summary

6 Degrees Group is seeking a hands-on Controller for an insurance environment in Atlanta, GA. This in-office leadership role oversees accounting operations, financial reporting, and treasury functions, partnering with executives on strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance within insurance or financial services, strong GAAP and NAIC knowledge, and CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting or finance experience, with leadership in insurance or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory reporting, including NAIC requirements.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred with strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepare GAAP and statutory financial statements, including NAIC filings
• Manage general ledger activities, cash flow, banking relationships, and oversee premium collections, claims, and reinsurance settlements
• Ensure compliance with state insurance regulations, maintain internal controls, and serve as primary contact for auditors and regulators
• Partner with executive leadership on financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, tax provisions, and process improvements
