The Atlantic Group, partnering with a major facilities management firm in Long Island City, NY, seeks a Payroll Specialist for a full-time contract role with potential permanence based on performance.

You will support payroll processing, data entry, and garnishment management under supervision, using WorkforceOne, Kronos, and CTR Timekeeper. Strong Excel and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• 2-5 years of payroll/HR experience required.
• Experience with HRIS databases (WorkforceOne, Kronos) and CTR Timekeeper preferred.
• Knowledge of garnishments and related regulations.
• Advanced MS Excel skills required.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for 3,000+ employees.
• Audit weekly new-hire, termination, and changes in payroll records.
• Maintain payroll data in HRIS (WorkforceOne).
• Prepare weekly reports and audits in Excel.
• Arrange direct deposits for employees.
• Process and report wage garnishments per federal, state, and local laws.
• Respond to garnishment inquiries and keep records compliant.
• Assist in unemployment, mortgage, and employee verification responses.
• Support audits and special projects as needed.
