Job summary

Sierra ITS is seeking a Human Resources Specialist in St. Louis, MO who will support HR records, onboarding, recruitment coordination, benefits, and reporting. The role starts onsite, transitions to hybrid after a few months, and is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of HR experience, a relevant bachelor’s degree, strong communication, and knowledge of HR practices and federal/state employment rules. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and HRIS is required.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of progressive HR or related admin experience.
• Experience supporting HR in a small to mid-size organization.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, BA, or related field.
• Working knowledge of HR practices and state/federal requirements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel/Outlook/Word/Teams).
• Strong communication, organization and attention to detail.
• HRIS, benefits admin, and recruitment coordination preferred.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee records, update HRIS, and prepare employment documents.
• Coordinate interviews, candidate communications, background checks, and offers.
• Assist onboarding and orientation for new employees.
• Support benefits enrollment and reconcile invoices.
• Prepare HR reports and assist with audits and compliance.
• Support employee engagement, training, and process improvements.
• Handle sensitive information with discretion.
