The role requires experience with venipuncture, specimen labeling, and proper handling of specimens in a fast-paced clinical setting. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, coordinating with laboratory staff, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and blood draws; label and centrifuge specimens.
• Collect and store specimens per procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Adhere to physician orders and lab protocols.
• Match requisitions to specimens; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze as needed.
• Verify test requisitions against scripts to ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store per required temperatures.
• Follow OSHA/DEP regulations and participate in trainings.
• Answer calls and relay lab results as needed.
