Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc. seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Washington DC (Georgia Ave NW). The position entails blood draws, specimen labeling, and processing with a daily 8am-5pm schedule for 3 months with potential for permanent hire.

Responsibilities include collecting and storing specimens, following procedures, and ensuring accurate labeling while complying with OSHA/DEP regulations. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum 5 years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in phlebotomy.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand and follow physicians' orders and laboratory requisitions.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper labeling and storage.
