Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification as required by state
• 5+ years venipuncture experience in fast-paced lab or hospital
• High School Diploma or GED; minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients as required
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
• Ensure all physician orders are understood and followed
