Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract in Washington, DC. The role involves manual blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to lab protocols. The candidate will work a 7am-4pm schedule, with Saturday half-shift, in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The position requires venipuncture experience, state phlebotomy certification, and a High School diploma or GED. Benefits are available and potential for perm exists.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required.
• Minimum 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrates technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Understands physician orders and matches requisitions to specimens.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores samples per protocol.
