True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position in Anchorage, AK. The role requires blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to lab procedures.

Schedule is 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, with an initial 3-month duration and potential for permanent placement. Responsibilities include preparing specimens, tagging and transporting samples, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification as required by the state of employment.
• Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High school diploma or GED; minimum 1 year of experience may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
• Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Package and transport specimens as required.
• Ensure OSHA and DEP regulations are followed.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Match laboratory requisitions to specimen tubes and ensure proper labeling.
