Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification required in the employed state.
• Minimum 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• High school diploma or GED completed.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws and labeling specimens.
• Centrifuging specimens and recording maintenance data.
• Decontamination and updating patient information as required.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes and label accordingly.
• Package and transport specimens following protocol and temperature needs.
• Ensure OSHA and DEP regulations are followed and attend trainings.
• Handle phone inquiries and communicate test results as needed.
