Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens according to procedures.
• Centrefuging specimens and maintaining accurate maintenance data.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients and assist as needed.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store at required temperatures.
• Adhere to OSHA/DEP regulations and complete trainings.
• Attend annual department trainings and respond to inquiries.
