Job summary

Food Management Search, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Cumming, GA. The position runs for approximately 3 months with potential for permanent placement. Schedule is 7:15am – 4:15pm, Monday through Friday. Benefits are available.

The candidate should have experience with blood draws, specimen labeling, and processing in fast-paced lab or hospital settings, plus a Phlebotomy certification as required by the state.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
• High School Diploma or GED minimum 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously, demonstrates technique with needles.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimens as required.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores samples per required temperatures and protocols.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend trainings; answer inquiries.
