Job summary

Key People in Cumming, GA is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role involves performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, and ensuring accurate documentation.

Candidates must have active phlebotomy certification and at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. The position requires interaction with patients of all ages, adherence to OSHA guidelines, and ability to work 7:15am–4:15pm

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
• High School Diploma or GED minimum 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly to patients and demonstrate technique using needles.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes; label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store specimens per required protocol to maintain integrity.
