Job summary

Top Echelon Software, LLC in Washington DC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role with the potential to convert to permanent. The position runs Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, at Washington DC (Georgia Ave NW).

The ideal candidate has venipuncture experience, a phlebotomy certification, and the ability to work with geriatric patients. Projected duration is 3 months with potential for perm; benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Experience doing blood draws in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Must have a valid phlebotomy certification as required by the state.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions or computer label for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per required temperatures.
