Job summary

Joseph Michaels International is seeking a Phlebotomist in Anchorage, AK for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Typical schedule is 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

You will perform blood draws, labeling, and specimen handling, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures and OSHA/DEP rules. Requirements include a valid state phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital, and a High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months’ venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label appropriately.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperatures.
