Job summary

Software Placement Group seeks a skilled phlebotomist for a 3-month contract in Anchorage, AK, with potential conversion to a permanent position. The role involves blood draws, specimen handling, and adherence to procedures to ensure accurate lab results.

On-site schedule is 8AM-5PM, Monday through Friday. Requirements include a state phlebotomy certification (where required), 6 months of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related role is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens; record maintenance data and decontamination activities.
• Collect and store specimens according to procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process to patients as required.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to address inquiries.
